Natalie Constancio

While I have always loved the outdoors, my appreciation for entomology began while I was earning my B.A. in Biology from the University of San Diego. During this time, my undergraduate research focused on aquatic beetle behavioral responses to drought-associated environmental changes, and biological surveys of aquatic invertebrates in arid-land aquatic ecosystems. I am thrilled to be continuing my education while following my interests in insects and ecology. My current research focuses on minimizing disease in organic onion production by reducing thrips populations through weed management and natural enemies. The goal is to reduce  losses and to make organic onion production sustainable for growers.
