Laura Marmolejo

Laura MarmolejoSince I was a child I have always been captivated by insects and it was because of that interest I went on to earn my Bachelor’s in Entomology from Texas A&M. During my time as an undergraduate my research focused on chemical ecology, specifically how plant defenses are affected by several herbivores and plant volatiles. I am incredibly grateful to be continuing my education at Michigan State University as a Master’s student, where I will study the ecology of asparagus beetle overwintering in different mediums, its interaction with various insecticides and other pests in asparagus agroecosystems. My goal is to create a more inclusive, diverse, and fair community for all scientists.
