At the MSU Plant Science Graduate Student Research Symposium Rob received 1st place for his poster and Alex received 2nd place for her talk. Congratulations!
Grad Student Research Symposium at MSU – March 29, 2011
Alex and Rob will be giving research presentations at the 9th Annual Plant Science Graduate Student Research Symposium on March 29, 2011 at MSU’s East Lansing Campus. Alex will present a talk and Rob a poster in the student competition.
Asparagus Day – March 10, 2011
Rob and Zsofia will be presenting the latest research findings about asparagus miner management at the Asparagus Day in Hart, MI. This is an annual event for growers, organized by Norm Myers.
NCB ESA – March 13-16, 2011
Alex, Rob and Zsofia will be attending this year’s ESA North Central Branch Meeting in Minneapolis. Alex will be giving a 10 min talk in the student competition on cabbage insect research, Rob will be presenting a poster in the student competition about his asparagus miner research, and Zsofia will be giving a 20 min talk in the Potato Symposium on Wednesday about Colorado potato beetle research.

Awards to grad students – Jan. 21, 2011
Alex and Rob were both awarded the ESA-NCB Presidential Travel Scholarship. Congratulations! This will help to pay their way to their first North Central Branch meeting in Minneapolis in March.
ESA Meeting – Dec. 12-15, 2010
At this year’s ESA meeting, Rob will be giving a 10-min talk and Alex will be presenting a poster in the student competition on Monday, Dec. 13. Zsofia is co-organizing a symposium with Russ Groves on “Emerging pests and research approaches in vegetable pest management.” The symposium will be on Tuesday, Dec. 14, 8.30am – 12pm in the Royal Palm Salon 2.
