Sarah Galley

My interest in entomology began when I started working with the Vegetable Entomology Lab as a research assistant while I completed my BS in environmental biology and zoology from Michigan State University. I’m currently a Master’s graduate student in the lab and my research aims to better understand the effect that different tillage practices and cover crops have on the community of pests and beneficials in organic cucurbit production.  I will also be conducting a squash bee survey using citizen science to discern their dispersal in Michigan.  During my research, I will have the privilege to work directly with growers to encourage the use and improvement of new pest management strategies.  After completing my masters at MSU, I hope to work in an extension position in the Great Lakes area.
